About

A practical self-paced course for staff and volunteers who want to make community spaces, activities and services more welcoming to disabled and neurodivergent children and their families. Sensory barriers can make everyday community activities difficult or inaccessible. This introductory course helps learners understand sensory differences, notice environmental barriers, respond supportively when someone is overwhelmed and plan realistic improvements. It is grounded in lived experience and focuses on participation, dignity and practical changes rather than diagnosis or therapy.
